For Participants

Allied health at GenCare is focused on one thing: helping you do more of what matters to you. Whether that is moving more freely, communicating more confidently or managing a complex health condition — our clinicians work toward your goals, not just toward clinical benchmarks.

For Families & Carers
A clinical team that actually communicates.

Families deserve more than a report that arrives once a year. GenCare allied health clinicians communicate regularly with families — explaining findings, sharing progress and involving you in the direction of your family member's therapy.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

When a participant needs OT, physio and speech at the same time, GenCare clinicians communicate directly — ensuring each discipline reinforces the others rather than working in parallel silos.

For Families & Carers

One allied health team. All talking to each other.

When your family member needs OT and physiotherapy and speech pathology, managing three separate providers across three different organisations is exhausting. GenCare allied health brings these clinicians under one roof — they communicate directly, share assessments and coordinate their therapy goals so nothing falls through the gaps. One provider. One point of contact. A team that actually works together.

Why GenCare

Multidisciplinary allied health — one provider

Most allied health providers offer one discipline — you go to a different clinic for OT, physio and speech. GenCare brings multiple disciplines under one team, which means your clinicians can actually communicate, share assessment findings and design programs that reinforce each other. That clinical coordination makes therapy more effective and makes life significantly simpler for families.

Allied Health — OT + Physio

Having the OT and physio from the same organisation has made an enormous difference. They talk to each other. When the OT identified a seating issue, the physio was aware within a week and adjusted the exercise program accordingly. My brother has made more progress in six months with GenCare than he did in two years with separate providers who had no idea what each other was doing.

FAQs

Allied health questions answered

Covering OT, physio, speech, NDIS funding and plan review reports.

NDIS Allied Health refers to clinical health services funded by the NDIS to support participants in achieving their disability-related goals. This includes occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, psychology, dietetics and other allied health disciplines. Most allied health services are funded under the Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living category of your NDIS plan.
GenCare provides occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology as its primary allied health services, with access to multidisciplinary assessment and collaboration. We also provide comprehensive functional assessments and NDIS-ready reports for plan reviews and funding applications.
Occupational therapy (OT) under the NDIS focuses on helping participants perform daily activities more independently. This includes assessing and treating fine motor skills, sensory processing, daily living skills, home modification assessment and assistive technology prescription. An OT can also write the functional reports needed for NDIS plan reviews and AT funding applications.
GenCare physiotherapy is focused on mobility, strength, pain management and physical function in the context of daily life and community participation. Our physios develop individualised exercise programs, support hydrotherapy, manage complex musculoskeletal conditions and help participants achieve movement-related NDIS goals.
Yes. Allied health clinicians are among the most important contributors to NDIS plan review evidence. GenCare OTs, physios and speech pathologists all provide NDIS-compatible functional assessment reports that document functional changes, outline future support needs and justify funding requests — written to the NDIS's reporting standards.
Yes. NDIS AT funding for mid-range and high-cost items requires an allied health clinician assessment — most commonly an OT. GenCare OTs conduct AT assessments, prescribe appropriate equipment, provide NDIS AT quotes and train participants in the use of prescribed equipment.
Yes. GenCare offers telehealth delivery for many allied health services — particularly for review sessions, program monitoring and initial consultations. In-person delivery is preferred for initial assessments and hands-on therapy. Ask us about the right mix for your situation.
Yes. Whether your NDIS plan is agency-managed, plan-managed or self-managed, you can access GenCare allied health services as long as you have Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living funding in your plan. Contact us to discuss your funding and how to get started.
Support Coordinators can refer participants via our referral form at /make-a-referral or by calling 1300-247-788. We respond within 1 business day. Please include the participant's NDIS goals, the type of allied health service needed and whether there are any urgent clinical needs.
Yes. GenCare allied health clinicians work with both adults and children. For paediatric participants, our OTs and speech pathologists have experience working in early childhood settings, supporting development goals and liaising with early childhood partners and educators.
